Too Many Files Open in This Process

Question

I'm seeing the following Error Code in my logs, what does it mean?

06:01:48.700 3 XXXX [0.0.0.0]:XX the 'accept' call failed. Error Code=too many files open in this process

Answer

The 'too many files open in this process error' indicates you're hitting the limit for the number of files that CommuniGate Pro has been allowed (by the underlaying OS) to open.

You'll find a discussion about this here: http://groups.google.com/group/demos.local.lists.cgp/topics

Just search the group for 'too many files open in this process'.

This value can be increased within the OS. As an example, in the case of Linux, this usually means increasing ulmit value as discussed here:
